Tell the Forest Service the EA for Buckhorn Is Grossly Inadequate--Comments Needed By Jan 9th

OHBC update

Thank you to all who recently sent comments to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) to mine gold on Buckhorn Mountain.

The Forest Service has a separate Environmental Assessment (EA) in which they intend to look only at the access road, the water discharge and other related facilities on National Forest land. We must tell them they have a responsibility to look at the whole proposal. This is your opportunity to be heard.

Help send a clear message to the Forest Service that their EA is grossly inadequate and unacceptable, and that a full Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) must be done.

Okanogan Highlands Alliance has done an extensive review of the Environmental Assessment (EA). More information can be found at the OHA website.
